Across the region, IOM provides a comprehensive response to the humanitarian needs of migrants, internally displaced persons, returnees and host communities.

The Federal Republic of Germany has been a member of IOM since 1954. With offices in Berlin, Nuremberg, Bremerhaven and in several posts in Rhineland-Palatinate, the Mission in Germany implements projects in the area of migration in cooperation with governmental and non-governmental partners.
Areas of work include protection, labour mobility and social inclusion, return and reintegration, resettlement and humanitarian admission, family reunification, crisis response, resource mobilisation and psychosocial support.
The Berlin office is also the liaison office to the German government for international cooperation and IOM projects around the globe in the fields of humanitarian aid, crisis prevention, stabilization, peacebuilding and development.
