IOM Chief of Staff Eugenio Ambrosi spent most of the week in Bosnia and Herzegovina where he and Chief of Mission Laura Lungarotti met the Minister of Security, Director of Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, Prime Minister of Una Sana Canton, and the Mayor of Bihać. The Delegation, together with the HE Ambassador of Austria, visited Lipa and the Temporary Reception Centre at Borići, where Mr Ambrosi praised the well-coordinated response between relevant actors ensuring that the basic humanitarian needs of migrants were being met. He urged that access to health care and vaccination for migrants be improved, while Ms Lungarotti called for a more solutions-oriented approach.
