The IOM Sub-Regional Office in Brussels oversees and coordinates activities across its designated area, which includes the 27 EU Member States, as well as Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland, and the Holy See. It ensures the effective implementation of Sub-Regional workplans aligned with IOM’s strategic objectives. In collaboration with the EU Global Office, the Sub-Regional Office leads advocacy efforts with EU capitals, focusing on policy, funding, and programmatic discussions at the EU level, including matters related to the Team Europe Initiative. Additionally, the office is responsible for ensuring compliance with IOM’s rules and regulations within the Sub-Region and provides direct support to country offices as needed.
